Shipping & Return Policy
When you place an order, you will receive a confirmation email of that order. This indicates that we have received your order in our system. Once your order has been received, we will contact our suppliers to determine whether that item is in stock and available to ship.
If your purchased item(s) are unavailable, we will notify you of other options that are available. If the item(s) are available for shipment (usually in 5 business days or less), we will inform our suppliers to ship the order directly to you.
Once we have confirmed that the order is in stock, we will email you the tracking number within one business day of your order leaving the warehouse. If you do not receive an email with the tracking information from us within 7 business days from when you placed the order, please follow up with us at orders@SolarTechDirect.com.
Most orders are shipped via UPS or FedEx ground shipping to your designated shipping address. Larger items, such as solar panels (150W and above) and water heating tanks, must ship by freight, which is very costly. These items are not eligible for free shipping.
When the shipment arrives, the driver will ask you to sign for the delivery. This is a legal document stating that the package is being delivered in good condition without damage and that you are waiving any additional claim from the shipper. Before signing, inspect the package(s) closely on all sides. Note any damage, including scuffs, dents, tears, punctures or creases on the delivery receipt. If you sign for damaged goods without making a damage notation, we may not be able to help you persue a damage claim. Your signature on a shipping receipt is a legal release of claim for damage unless noted at the time of receipt. So check your delivery carefully.
If there is anything unusual with the package, you have the right to open it to inspect the contents. If the driver is unwilling to wait while you inspect all of the items, you may mark on the delivery receipt “Concealed Damage Possible”. If there is damage to the shipment, then you must contact SolarTech Direct immediately.
Order Cancellation Policy:
A $50 administration fee will be applied if you cancel your order after 48 hours regardless if your order has been shipped or not. If the supplier has shipped your order, you (the purchaser) will have to pay the shipping charges for returning the product plus a 15% restocking fee. We will only issue refunds to the credit card you used to place the order.
We hope you are satisfied with your purchase from SolarTech Direct. You may return most items for a full refund, minus shipping and handling charges and a 15% restocking fee, within 30 days after purchase. All items must be unused and in original condition in the original packaging. Special orders and custom built orders are not returnable. If shipping charges were part of your order, they are not refundable. Please see section below for items that are not eligible for returns.
Customer returns for items received as part of a "free shipping" offer will be credited for the amount of the returned items less actual outbound shipping charges paid by us and any restocking fee and other costs as mentioned above that may apply.
Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to receive a Return Merchant Authorization (RMA) number. Returns will not be processed without an RMA. We will also provide you with the address to return the item. Please note, you will be responsible for the return shipping and handling costs.
Items Not Eligible for Returns:
Due to the sensitive nature of the equipment we distribute and the potential risks to personal and public safety and property, we are unable to accept the return of any product from the below manufacturers which has left the warehouse, unless it involves the following: error on our part, carrier damage, defective product, incorrect product or extra product you did not order.
